Retreat: Nurturing Your Inner Climate Activist

This retreat will provide the space and opportunity to deepen our understanding of how we exist in interdependence with the natural world. It’s for anyone working on climate justice or activism, educating for sustainability, or eager to explore ecological consciousness within their own field.

As an exploration and opportunity to unearth what are the emotions, values, and skills we bring toward ecological justice and educating for environmental awareness, we’ll bring contemplative practices to the forefront with an emphasis on reciprocity. This will include conversations of the rights of nature, our relationship to soil, regenerative practices and healing-centred considerations for moving forward with climate coalition-building and ecosystem protection. Sessions will offer space for processing eco grief and hope, grounded in the belief that through grief we allow joy to return.

Through collective practices and tools, land relationship building, acknowledging nature’s wisdom, and more, we’ll explore how to live regeneratively – within ourselves and on the planet, and how to elevate ecological consciousness.

• Location: Accommodation will be at Vinha da Manta (see photos below), a glamping in the Municipality of Guarda, Portugal
• Dates: Tuesday 27 June – Sunday 2 July
• Cost: 1500 Euros per person (with a tiered system*)

A note on cost: The value we are asking for covers accommodation (shared glamping tent at Vinha da Manta), meals, and all retreat workshops and activities. You are responsible for your own flights/transport to the venue, and any additional expenses such as souvenirs, postcards, etc.

The tiered system is like a sliding scale. All tiers give access to the same program and offerings, and proof is not required about your financial situation. We only ask that you choose your tier with integrity and honestly reflect on your current financial situation from a place of abundance rather than one of scarcity, and then choose the tier that meets that reality.

• Tier 1 – Sprout: (1300 Euros) You very much wish to participate, but this is a stretch however you value contributing to the work.
• Tier 2 – Sapling: (1500 Euros) You have the means to contribute what the time and knowledge is worth, and are comfortable doing so.
• Tier 3 – Fruit Tree: (1800 Euros) You are able to support yourself and the facilitators in allowing them to offer this residency for a wider community.
